Silly security London

When you first check into Eurostar London, you will have to put your bags onto a security scanning table. Problem is this table is 1 meter high and you are forced to bench press your luggage. I see women with children and elderly all struggle to lift their bags. What is the point of having such a high up table!? I noticed many skinny looking surfer dudes Justin Bieber looking guys struggling to lift their baggage and even missing the table because of their floppy hair. Not cool. Will this ever change!?
